I know that I am writing a column promoting St. Patrick's Day the day before St. Patrick's Day, but as the saying goes, "better late than never."
The good news is that you don't have to run out and buy any four-leaf-clover-shaped glasses or headbands, unless that is, you want to. I'm all for a little fun with some silly attire.
However, since we aim toward all things fashion around here, we're going to take a look on how to make your St. Patrick's Day a little more fashionable. Some of these items can readily been found in your personal style arsenal, while others can be found locally, and just in time for tomorrow's holiday.
While you are also entitled to refuse to take part in tomorrow's holiday by not wearing green, I do encourage you not to write off the color completely. Green is a great spring color that is sure to get you out of the winter rut and, whether in accessories or apparel, is a great way to add some color to your wardrobe.
The following are some tips on how to make your St. Patrick's Day a little more fashionable. Enjoy.
Emerald eyes
If you don't want to go all out with green, add a hint of the shade with eye shadow. You'll spice up your makeup routine and celebrate St. Paddy's Day is one fell swoop.
Nail it down
Sandals weather is upon us. Give your tootsies a fresh coat of green polish. The refreshing green color is not only perfect for St. Patty's Day, but you'll be able to wear it all season long.
Green and chic
Thankfully, St. Patrick's Day does not require everyone to wear a "Kiss Me I'm Irish" T-shirt. Step it up a few fashionable notches and choose a fitted tee, button up, or even cardigan in a favorite shade of green and sport it for the day. The best part: you can wear for both springs and summer.
Shades of green
Protect your eyes and add some style with some awesomely green sunglasses. Perfect for any spring wardrobe and a must for the sunny days ahead.
Walking on the green
You can't forget a most loved accessory, shoes. Add a pop of color with a great pair of green flats or mix it up even more with heels. Either way, the luck of the Irish is on your side with a great pair of green shoes.
Green from head to toe
Accessories are a great way to patronize St. Patrick's Day without going overboard. Whether it's earrings, bracelets, or a great necklace, a little pop of green goes a long way.
